i'm a huge fan of street art,
always have been.
a week or so ago, we were out and about and we came across this little bit.
i simply had to share.
what's better than street art?
street art with a girlie twist.
yay!
i found this little bit of crocheted loveliness on sunset boulevard in the ever so hipster area of silverlake.
{it's right down the street from where we go to the farmer's market}
these little babies were crocheted on to a post in front of a shop.
they are on one of those posts where bikes park
what do you call those posts anyway?
bike parking post?
hmm...
anyhow,
i did a little research on this form of street art, now called yarnbombing
i found out some cool facts
it all started in 2005 with a group called
they began the knit graffiti craze.
the only continuing member of the original group is magda sayeg
you can check out her blog here
i also found another blog dedicated to yarnbombing throughout the world.
visit the blog here
probably my favorite thing about where we live is that it is a treasure trove of fun and excitement.
i never know what we are gonna stumble upon.
adventures in los angeles!
fun!
happy girlie street art!

I would just DIE to see some yarnbombing around here! If ever I had the time, I would just get out and do it myself. Love. =)
ReplyDeleteI know, me too! I'm getting inspired to do some in an unexpected place. especially wen I visit smaller towns, off the city/urban track. Hmmm...now I'm getting ideas!
