set of three burp cloths
oh how i love making these specialty baby items!
i feel so at peace now that i have made the 'official' switch to exclusively custom baby orders
here's the deal:
what means the most to me is to be able to create unique, one-of-a-kind items.
the thing that makes 'em so particularly special is that i pray over each item
lullaby baby blankie
{fabric on one side, minky on other}
so as i'm sewing,
i'm praying
lullaby baby blankie
i pray for mama, papa and baby by name
{if the baby has a name yet}
i also pray for any specific issues that may be happening
in their lives or for the pregnancy + birth.
this way, babies are truly covered in a blanket of prayer
lullaby baby blankie
i made this lovely set for my dear friend and mama-to-be,
sandra who is expecting her first in only a few weeks!
sandra's style is elegant and hip so i went for a shabby chic style fabric
i love the blue and faded brown fleur de lis pattern
the burp cloths were done to coordinate
one even has the sweetest curly script that says things like
"rock a bye baby"
and
"sweet dreams"
even though it's clearly for a baby
it's elegant and sophisticated at the same time.
here's sandra
doesn't she look amazing?
baby mateo, is affectionately referred to as cupcake
{i made the sign for the shower too}
i wanted it to look like a kid wrote it.
sweet happy baby shower!

I love it, too! What a precious idea. You should be expecting an order from me soon - our little guy can use some prayer before he gets here (and a snuggly blanket, too!). We just found out a week ago he has a few congenital heart defects and will be needing a series of surgeries to correct them after he's born. I'd love to give him something more meaningful than a generic store-bought blankie, especially if they allow him to keep it with him while he's recovering. A true cloak of protection. :-)
