There’s no better way to combat the adverse effects of Candida albicans on one’s health than to have a healthy diet. Eating healthy foods is a surefire way to keep the fungus from propagating inside the body. Whole foods free from sugar, salt, and chemicals are guaranteed to promote a more improved immune system that prevents the rapid growth of the parasitic fungus. Rapid growth of the fungus thus shields those with Candida albicans from suffering symptoms such as muscle and joint pains, sore throats, and severe itching (just to name a few).
Nutrition is vital for anyone who wants to be free from the adverse effects of Candida albicans. There are a lot of healthy options to choose, ranging from eating high fiber food such as asparagus and radish, or antifungal herbs like onion, ginger, and garlic.
Another good option is to take healthy foods or supplements or use topically herbs and plants that are considered as good antifungal. Some of these food or herbs that are rich in essential oils are cod liver, fish, coconut, oregano, and grapefruit. . Let’s go over some of these foods and plants and see how they assist the body in fighting against Candida albicans.
Cod liver oil contains essential Omega 3 which a good antifungal agent. Cod liver oil is usually characterized as a yellowish liquid with a weird odor and fishy flavor. Some manufactured cod liver oil is added with mint or citrus flavors to disguise the oil’s weird taste and smell. Cod liver oil is extracted from cod livers usually through cooking.
The good thing with coconut oil is that it can be taken in as a food supplement. This can be taken as an alternative to those who hate taking pills. The active antifungal agents in coconut oil are lauric, capric, and caparylic acids. When these fatty acids work together they are effective in stopping the growth of virus and fungi through dissolution of their cell walls.
Along this line, one can also try other sources of fatty acids such as fish and fish oil. These foods are blessed with Omega 3 as well plus fatty acids that can also help in neutralizing Candida fungi. There are also other popular options such as black currant seed oil and borage oil. All of them are anti fungal in nature.
Oil distilled from oregano leaves is also a proven antidote against the Candida fungus. The leaves of the oregano plant have been historically used against ailments affecting the respiratory system. Be careful though in picking oregano, as there is the oregano used as a food seasoning, which is called Oregano marjoram. The true oregano meanwhile is called Oregano vulgare. In taking oregano oil, one can mix 3 drops into a juice or just drink the said amount at least 3 times a day.
Taking in supplements with grapefruit seed extract is also a good way to neutralize the growth of the Candida fungus (but tastes awful!). Containing bioflavonoid or elements that resist allergies, inflammation, and microbial activities in the body, grapefruit seed extract boosts the immune system and in turn protects it against the further growth of the Candida fungus.
The battle against Candida albicans can be won as long as there is proper motivation and information among those who have the fungus. Remember that perfection is not obtainable! Look for ways that work for you as an individual when fighting against Candida. Nutrition is very important. Whole foods are a must. Start eating healthy foods and find yourself winning the battle against Candida albicans.
