garlic-candida-healthy diet    Few people realize how much discomfort and pain candida albicans can bring. This yeast-like fungus has brought so much harm to many individuals that it has become a curse for most of them. This fungus multiplies and in the process causes contamination often referred to as candidiasis.

When this infection ravages the body, the person experiences aches and discomfort. It may be manifested through constipation, muscle and joint pain, sore throat, cough, and sores. The overgrowth of Candida albicans can become a serious health problem if it never gets back into proper balance.

Neutralizing the harsh effects that Candida albicans brings to an individual, rests on one’s diet.

As we have stated in past articles, a healthy diet is the first step in the fight against Candida albicans. The healthy diet should consist of whole foods, or food that is unrefined or did not go through any chemical processes. Whole foods are thus free from salt, fat, and sugar. Researchers believe that these chemicals are the “fuel” for the reproduction of Candida albicans, so eating healthy foods that are free from these chemicals spare the body from further damage by this fungus.

One of the more popular and proven antidote against Candida albicans is garlic. Yes, this popular food seasoning noted for its pungent flavor can actually help those suffering from candidiasis. This isn’t surprising considering that garlic has been noted for its medical and health benefits, making many people to refer to it as a miracle herb. There is no difference with Candida albicans, as research suggests that garlic’s allicin compound is an effective agent in countering the propagation of Candida albicans. Furthermore, allicin has been proven to be effective in lessening the amount of cholesterol and fats in the body.

So how does an individual maximize the potency of garlic against Candida albicans?

Those suffering from candidiasis can consume a clove or two of raw garlic daily (I suggest doing this with a juicer). It can also be used as a food seasoning; however, it is advisable not to fry the garlic. Experts believe that frying the garlic kills the allicin. An alternative is to bake the food seasoned with garlic instead. Try wrapping whole garlic with foil with a smidge of butter and bake for about 40min at 350 degrees. Then spread it on some yeast free crackers. Yummy!

The down side of taking raw garlic is stinky breath and bad body odor (as if we have not suffered enough!). No one wants to go through those troubles, so instead of eating raw garlic, another alternative is to take garlic supplements. A 300 milligram of garlic supplement taken at least 3 times a day can go a long way in the battle against Candida albicans.

Indeed, taking garlic regularly is a good way to battle the negative effects of candidiasison our body. While garlic is an effective antifungal agent, battling candidiasis should not be limited to taking in garlic alone. Alternating between different antifungal is recommended in the treatment against this ugly fungus. Let’s get this stuff out of our system!
