I just received a text message that baby Grace has been born. The youngest of 10 in my friend Brandi’s family. As if that isn’t amazing enough in our American society of big houses and small families, Brandi is also a homeschool mom!!! How very blessed this family is, lots of brothers and sisters, being trained up in the way they should go by parents that love the LORD with all their heart mind and strength.
Congratulations to Brandi, Grace and the rest of the family!!!
Ps. 127:3-5 “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”
Prov. 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Deut. 6:5-7 “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

This has been my kind of day! A God is Gracious kind of day. A cool rain outside that smells sweet and a good book to read. One of the really cool perks of homeschooling is, I get to share a day like this with my daughter, who loves it just as much as I do. We lit some good smelling candles and curled up on the couch with our library picks. I love fall:)

I’m back!!! WHEW! For those of you that have not been reading my posts, I have started homeschooling my 9 year old girl and 5 year old boy. Writing blog posts has taken a back seat to the daily grind of homeschooling. I absolutely love it though. We are using a teaching approach called Heart of Wisdom that bases all learning through study of the scriptures. Read the rest of this entry

My husband and I have decided to take a leap of faith! We are going to join the ranks of Homeschool parents:) Our oldest daughter has wanted to be homeschooled for the last year, and after much prayer and talk, we are at peace with homeschooling this year. That’s amazing considering all the concerns we have had about it.
Time is a big issue of course. I am so thankful for the Dani Johnson seminars that I went to this year, there was incredible teaching on how to keep your time focused. I know that I would not be able to homeschool and run a home based business with out the skill of focused time. I praise God for planting that seed even before I knew I would need it for homeschooling! Read the rest of this entry
