I just received a text message that baby Grace has been born. The youngest of 10 in my friend Brandi’s family. As if that isn’t amazing enough in our American society of big houses and small families, Brandi is also a homeschool mom!!! How very blessed this family is, lots of brothers and sisters, being trained up in the way they should go by parents that love the LORD with all their heart mind and strength.

Congratulations to Brandi, Grace and the rest of the family!!!

Ps. 127:3-5 “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”

Prov. 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Deut. 6:5-7 “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

“I don’t think anemia is your main problem, I think you have Candida” - its been a year since I heard those words. A lot of things have happened in the last year, from Candida is not one of them:(  It has been really tough to stick to a good diet lately, we haven’t been buying as much organic produce because of the cost of food. Anyone else feeling the money crunch!?! I am very thankful I can still get by Uri International for some really great nutrition.

Heres the deal, I have gotten bored with the whole Candida thing, actually with nutrition all together. I know it is as important today as it was the day gave me a passion for it, I just haven’t stayed focused on it over the summer months. I am in need of a renewing of mymind! It is so cool how speaks to us through our circumstances to understand Him better or to initiate a deeper intimacy with Him. Over the last year of different health difficulties I have been so blessed by what has taught me through them. He has opened scripture up to me like I have never seen before and given me such a desire not only to know more, and learn more but also to be more, all by wanting more of Him!

was one of these new things for me. I of course always knew that was done in the bible, but it never occurred to me to actually do it myself! Of course we all fast within our 24 hours of time we are given in a day when we are sleeping. That is why our first meal is called breakfast – break fast. During this nightly fast our body sets to work repairing itself through its natural ability of spontaneous . Muscles rebuild themselves and toxins are pushed out and made ready to be eliminated. I am sure you have heard many times not to eat a lot right before bed. The body can’t properly work on if it is still busy digesting.

When I was growing up I used to visit my aunt’s family on summer vacations and Easter breaks. She had 3 small children that I would help out with and she ran a daycare out of her home for awhile. She got totally hooked on soap operas and her husband hated them so she would watch them in secrecy…..well, everyone knew but her husband. I can remember a time her husband came home and asked about her day and her kids answered for her with something like - “there is only so much she can do with the Days of our Lives, especially when she has , it’s really surprising she isn’t in General Hospital!” He looked at them, completely baffled by what they were saying. The rest of us had a great laugh!

This poem written by reminded me of that time, check it out:)

“Oh, , who said there’s just One Life to Live?

I’m sure I’m livin’ a thousand!

The few times I do awake to pray

start arousin’!

Uh, oh! No time for quiet now

Think quick! The day’s beginnin’!

I’ll try to recall all Oprah’s advice…

Then my head starts spinnin’.

Make those younguns religious, cautious but not suspicious

And watch their self-esteem!

Yet you be professional, look sensational

And keep that house squeaky clean!

And perish the thought you’ forget the needs

Of that marvelous man you married

Why, throw yourself before him when he raises his eyebrows

And quit thinking, “I’d rather be buried!”

Oops, now I’m late for work, the kids hate their clothes

And the baby’s got a cough

As the World Turns so quickly, I’m severely tempted

To take the next jump off.

Surely they’re kiddin’, Is there anyone left

Who’s honestly Young and Restless

As for me, I feel centuries old, completely worn out

And cellulite infested!

It’s gonna take more than Ryan’s Hope for his woman to survive.

I cannot abide another deep breath of these Days of our lives!

Superwoman? She’s a curse. To fake her is impossible!

And if I try for one more day, I’ll wind up in General Hospital!

I’ve gotta be here, I’ve gotta be there

I frankly cannot face it.

Rescue me from havoc, please, show me what is basic!

Slow me down, , save this life and keep my eyes on You.

Satan can have this rat race world-

Thank , I’m just passin’ through.”

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father “

This verse came to mind as I was reading an email that I receive daily from Ravi Zacherias Institutional Ministries in Atlanta GA. Margaret Manning wrote “We too can bring , call powers and principalities into justice, bring order to chaos, and new life to what was dead.” WOW! This seems like tall order!! How is this even possible when I can’t even get out the door in time to get my kids to school. But there it is….”I can’t”. Those two words that say so much. How often do we speak those words over ourselves without a second thought.
How many times have you heard statements like: “I can’t believe how sick she is, she will never recover from that!”, “I can’t lose this weight”, “I can’t get my house in order and get the kids to do their homework, its hopeless!”, “I can’t stay in a dead marriage any longer”. A lot of “I can’t” that we hear or say in our everyday life, does anyone else feel STIFLED?!
That stifling feeling is the saying “I CAN!!” How often do we fail before we even begin because we started with “I can’t”. The truth is…we can’t, in our own strength, we can do nothing! Does this experiential truth stop us? It usually does, but if we meditate on the Truth of - His word, we see verses like Ro. 4:20-22 “He (Abraham) did not waver at the promise of through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to , and being fully convinced that what He () had promised He () was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him (Abraham) for righteousness.”
It is so easy for me to decide ‘I can’t’ when it is something that I am afraid of or don’t want to do in the first place. James 3:14 says “But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.” I CAN when I am walking in the Spirit by His strength! To say differently is to ‘lie against the truth’. AAWWWW, the power of the tongue. James 3:8-10 says “But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of . Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” I believe that to say I can’t is to curse myself to fail by my own limitations when I could instead bless my by showing ‘He can’ and give Him the glory!
I have lived so many “I can’ts” as a wife, mother, friend, and in my . I want to be done with that and live by the Power of the ! 1 Pet. 5:10 & 11 says “Now the of all grace, who called ME to His eternal glory in Christ , will personally restore, establish, strengthen, and support ME after I have suffered a little. To Him be the dominion forever. Amen.” Obviously I have personalized that verse. Do you need to personalize that verse too? Do you struggle with all the things that you can’t do in life? Let me encourage you…. has a plan for you in your relationships, in your business, in your very day to day living! Seek Him first and He will establish and strengthen you for that good work!!
Be blessed:)

Manly Man- home renovationToday has been a lovely day! One of those days when there aren’t a ton of expectations of what needs to be done, so I get done what I want done. I got to clean and pretty my house (rotated some décor) and that always makes me happy. A friend stopped by and we had a nice visit (oh, did I mention she gave me a necklace tooJ My son has been happy to play in his room quietly and my refrigerator is FULL of food. AAAHHHH, what peaceJ Of course my perfect peace is in Himself, and when I crank up the worship music (like today) I get to sing His praises! I know a certain amount of chaos is just around the corner, my husband and daughters will be home in an hour, but until then I am at AAAAHHHHH.

Here is a thought, some time back in our many home renovations (we live in a 60yr old fixer upper) I considered writing a book about my husband. Now you should know that even though you are reading this because I wrote it, I am actually not a writer. But there are some things about my husband that are just too good not to share! I believe the title I had decided on was “The many catastrophes of a !”

What would Do? This has become a question used by many to decide what they themselves should do in their current situation. I have even seen the initials on different pieces of jewelry as a reminder to the individual to ask and seek out the answers when a need for guidance arises. At my last this “question” was brought up as a useful tool to keep ourselves pure in what we do. It did not set well with me but I couldn’t put my finger on why, while I was sitting there. Now I can’t let it go till I know “why”. It seems reasonable, what better person to model our behavior after, right? After all, the bible says we are “to be conformed to the likeness of His Son.” Ro. 8;29. So what’s the big deal?

bearingfruit-God's love-freedom 5:13-14 “For you are called to , brothers; only don’t use this as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Boy, if loving meant that I could just throw my arms around that someone and give a great big hug alongside the words “I love you”, I would be a pro at loving others! Why is it that loving someone well doesn’t always look that way? For me, that’s a selfish kind of love, what I mean is, it comes as a natural act of affection. It is in fact a characteristic of my own self-love. Self-love is defined as “an undue sparing of self, with the primary concern that things be easy and pleasant for one’s self” AAHHHG! Does that mean love can get a little uncomfortable?! I guess the cross is the perfect picture of uncomfortable love. Read the rest of this entry

Life gets busy! Sometimes it is an exhilarating, exciting kind of busy and sometimes it’s just plain old busy. My brother and his family were in town the last couple of days and I just got a call from my dad that he will be here on Friday. Busy. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and it is a joy to have them visit (doesn’t happen that often) but it adds a certain amount of busy. Did I get my quiet time with the even once while family was here? NO. Is that why I feel like I am a complete blahhhhh? Probably. On top of all that,my eating patterns were completely disrupted. Many of you know I have to be very careful about what I eat because I have . Well that was thrown out the window! “Oh, we’re making garlic bread? YUM! Chips, cheese, and pop tarts? Why not?!” Read the rest of this entry

bearingfruit-christian book, romans 12:1 WOW, WOW, WOW. I am totally humbled and thrilled all at the same time! I am reading this awesome book called by . I highly recommend it even though I haven’t finished it yet. So maybe I should just say I highly recommend the first 10 chapters so far. This book starts out with the thing I fear most in my life, then gets a little quirky and then becomes quite delightful in its presentation of some really great spiritual truths!I am not sure how it ends yet but hopefully I will finish tonight and let you know if I fully recommend it for your reading pleasure.
There are so many awesome quotes I could share with you but I will use the most recent one I read and expound on it for you. This is a quote between the main character Mack and Sarayu (the ).
