Autism is a horrible thing! The first time I had ever heard of it was when the movie “Rain man” came out with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. Somehow I don’t think Hollywood gave a true picture of how very awful this disease could be. I watched a 4year old boy last year that had a “mild” case of autism and it was difficult, but I actually felt blessed that he was not as severe as some can be. We had new heating and air put in our home while I was doing daycare, so I warned the workers that this little boy behaved “different “from the other kids. Turned out one of the workers had a young adult child that was “severely” autistic. He said there was no relationship at all, no response on her part whatsoever. It broke my heart to think of this young woman trapped in her own mind with no emotional connection with others. Here is what is interesting, this father stood very firm in his belief that it was all the ‘pink drink’ (antibiotics) that was given to her as a young child for ear infections that caused the autism!

I learned that gluten is the protein found in grains like wheat, rye, and barley. People can be VERY sensitive to gluten especially those who already have a problem with Albicans.

I don’t think I had a gluten problem until I had a problem, or maybe I didn’t have a problem until I had a gluten problem. Either way, they seemed to go together for me. The most common explanation given for this is through the ‘.’  This occurs when there is a disruption of the healthy and normal lining of the intestines. destructs this lining by piercing the walls of the gut, thereby causing it to become more porous and permeable to a multitude of macromolecules, toxins, and antigens—all of which are elements that cause inflammatory and sudden allergic reactions to foods like gluten.
