Any individual wanting to experience optimum health with good digestion must pay close attention to what they are eating and how they are eating it. This is especially true when for those whose systems are already compromised. Digestion in the body takes a great deal of energy, up to 40 – 60% in a relatively healthy individual. However, those who are treating Candida Albicans have added stress on their systems that causes them to use more energy for the same job, up to 80%. There are some simple techniques to aid in proper digestion.
Cooking good tasting and colorful food will actually aid in digesting. The first step in digestion is in the mouth when you chew and mix your food with your saliva. When you spend time preparing your food you are also preparing your mouth! Your saliva glands will start to secrete at the expectation of eating the food. This is especially true if it smells good, looks good, and is over all appetizing to you. It is worth the time and energy to find the foods you can eat that you love, and prepare it yourself.
Another tip is to eat with a cheerful heart! Eating while one is stressed, angry, or tense makes food harder to digest. Too much energy is being placed toward those emotions and steals them away from the process of digestion. I always try to remember to give thanks to God for my food before eating. It’s a quick way to examine my heart before I begin my meal as well as giving Him the glory for its provision.
Some other commonly known digestion techniques are: eating only when you are hungry and stopping when feeling satisfied, not full.
Chewing food really well is important, I have even heard to chew as many as a 100 times per bite! Chew till there is nothing left in your mouth to chew. Talk about some quality time around the table!
Try some mild exercise after eating like, washing dishes and cleaning up the dining room. Sweep around the house or vacuum (kill two birds with one stone!).
Lastly, never eat fruit after a meal. Fruit should always be eaten about 20 to 30 minutes before meals. Fruit needs to pass through the digestive system quickly or it will rot in your system and create problems like bloating and gas.
These are some very simple techniques that can be used in your daily routine to aid in digestion. I am sure you will find that you feel better when you slow down and enjoy your food!

After losting 186 pounds by controlling Candida I had my lab develop a naturopathic antifungal - Candidacin. If you suffer from yeast symptoms (there’s a list on my site) but especially if you suffer from fatigue or weight gain, please check out my website, candidacandida.com or my weight loss site beautyandtheyeastbeast.com.
